Recognising Student Achievement
Every day we strive to develop knowledge, skills and values across the College. This week we acknowledged students who received outstanding academic results in Semester 1 at Achievers’ Club lunches.Â
Students who are members of the Achievers’ Club embody excellence, having performed well in several subjects, even though they may not be the best or top-performing students in any particular course.Â
Over 140 students from Years 7 – 12 were recognised. Simone Sawiris, Deputy Principal, Teaching & Learning, commended the girls for their commitment to their studies, especially during a challenging semester of learning.Â
Academic Captain Dilara Wijesinghe congratulated the girls on their achievements and encouraged them to maintain their efforts. “If you keep on working hard, doing your best and encouraging each other, it will be easier to keep going because when we work together, we can achieve so much more,” she said.

The Value of Student Voice – Jennifer Oaten
“At Santa Maria College, we are not only given the opportunity, but we are encouraged by our teachers and each other to voice our opinions, concerns and ideas—to continue moving forward as a school and as a community. Student voice is integral for growth, and allows for us, as students to have an active role in shaping our education.”
Shining a Spotlight on Our Student Ministry Team
