From the President: August 2022
Welcome to the August edition of the OGA newsletter. We have some wonderful alumni stories for you this month. We are always on the lookout for our old girls who would like to share their stories. We would love to hear from some of our 1970s, 1980s and 1990 graduates. You can get in touch with us at [email protected]
The past few weeks have left me reflecting on the good in our community. At school, we were all taught the importance of the Mercy values and incorporating them into our lives. I was chatting to not one but two Santa Maria alumni at a work event last week, completely by chance. Both are incredible women making a difference through their volunteering, and I felt so proud standing alongside them.
On that note, the OGA is thrilled to be able to offer our Project of Mercy Grant for the second year. This grant is for up to $5,000, designed to enable a Santa Maria College alumni to undertake a project with a focus on helping others less fortunate within the WA community. You can find all of the details here.Â
So many of you are doing wonderful things, and we look forward to being able to support your efforts in a small way.Â
On the event front, we were incredibly excited to bring back our Movie Night. I’m sure everyone there will agree it was a fabulous evening. I would like to thank those who attended for their generous donations to Share the Dignity. Your support will make a difference.Â
Wishing you all a wonderful month ahead.
