Howzat! Cricket Gala Day
Year 6 students have been taking part in a cricket program run by instructors from the WACA throughout Term 4. The girls have been learning about the sport with great enthusiasm. The girls have had the guidance of their teachers and WACA instructors, who have been helping them to improve in all aspects of the game, from their bowling technique to batting and fielding. Â
The unit finished this week with a fun cricket gala day for the girls held at the College. They were excited and passionate about testing out their new skills against their peers in a friendly House competition.
Here’s what some of the girls had to say.
“The cricket gala was fun and a great team-building experience for our Houses. I’m in Frayne, and we had to work hard to keep on top and be undefeated.” Billie Taylor, 6.8
“It was lots of fun, and I enjoyed using the skills we had learnt over the past few weeks.” Sienna Kayser, 6.8
I enjoyed having fun with all my friends and cheering them on. Being a part of Corbett and representing my house was awesome. Josephine Tilley, 6.6
I thought the cricket gala was really fun. I liked that we all got to play cricket together and I loved the music too. Cricket is great because you get to try lots of different skills like batting and bowling and I love getting to know more people through sport. Amelia Bairstow, 6.9
