Environmental Awareness
In the Year 10 Outdoor Education Environmental Awareness unit, the girls have been learning about our environment, how human activity is harming our environment, and what we as individuals can do to make a difference.
In one lesson, the students created some fantastic infographics outlining what they can do as individuals to make a difference.
In another lesson, the girls foraged in the outdoors, whether at home or at school, and created their own backyard art piece reflecting what they had learnt in the unit so far.
Ashlee Chafer said “I have really enjoyed learning about our environmental issues. It has inspired me to make a change, just by doing little things I can contribute. This was a great learning topic as I now have more information on the situation, I can talk to my loved ones about it and hopefully influence their decision making.”
“I have really loved Outdoor Ed this last term, it’s has been great to learn about how to care for our environment and what products contain nasty chemicals and plastic.” said Lucy Collins.
