No Greater Love: John 13:15
The world was shocked, though perhaps not surprised, to find that Russia had illegally invaded Ukraine in an act of unjustified aggression. As we feared, the toll on the brave people of Ukraine is tragic and dreadful to witness. In response, several world leaders have come to their aid in various ways to protect the innocent and contain the invaders.
Church communities worldwide have rallied together by offering their support through the supply of urgent essentials and prayer vigils. In such times, we echo the Psalmist’s words: “Arise Lord! Lift your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.” (Psalm 10).Â
On ANZAC Day, we honoured the brave men and women of World War 1, those who gave their lives so that we may live in peace. We remember those who will never grow old as we grow old. We also honour the men and women of Ukraine who are making the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country. “The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them” (John 15:13).Â
And so, we pray:Â
Heavenly Father,Â
We give thanks to all who bravely sacrificed their lives for their country and those men and women who continue to fight for the restoration of peace and justice.
Have mercy on those who now suffer the miseries of war.Â
Have compassion on the wounded and dying and comfort the broken-hearted.Â
Guide our rulers to bring war to an end so that peace may reign worldwide. In Jesus’ name, we pray.Â
Amen
May the peace of Christ dwell in our hearts.Â

Combating The Attention Spans Crisis In Our Students – Jennifer Oaten
It is no secret that attention spans have been steadily declining, especially among younger generations growing up immersed in digital technology.
