Outreach Day 2023

At Santa Maria College, we always strive to support those in need. One of the ways in which we do this is through our annual Outreach Day, where the College community comes together to raise funds for our Winter Appeal that supports St Vincent de Paul Society, St Patrick’s Community Support Centre and The Shopfront.

On Outreach Day, our student service groups ran stalls at recess and lunch to raise funds. The stalls consisted of game stalls with prizes to win and food for sale, such as fair trade hot chocolate, muffins, cupcakes, chips, pizza and lolly bags.

The funds raised on the day will go towards the College’s Winter Appeal, where students donate necessary items to the previously mentioned organisations, so they can provide these goods to their clients in need. These donations will be presented to representatives at the Outreach Mass next week.

We spoke to Service Captain, Maya Zammit, to find out more about Outreach Day:

“Outreach Day aims to raise funds for Vinnies, St Patrick’s and Shopfront, all organisations who are in great need of our support so they can help those struggling in our community. It is one of the most important causes supported by the College, and allows students to get involved with stalls and preparations for the day.”

It is always so uplifting to see the College community contributing with donations and getting involved in fundraising days. Thank you to all who donated, with your support we are able to assist these charity organisations with the good work that they do, for those who need it most.
