Refine: Visual Art & Design Exhibition

In their final year, the Year 12 Art and Design students were constantly reminded to refine their work. This became their goal for their final artworks.

So, with this in mind, what better name for their Graduation Exhibition than ‘Refine’?

‘Refine’ was the culmination of work from our Year 12 Visual Art and Design students.

The exhibition, held last Thursday night in the Mercy Gallery, was certainly an opulent affair! The dress code for the evening saw artists dressed in white while the guests dressed in black. The crowd complemented the striking paintings, drawings, and design suites on display.

2023 Visual Arts Captain Amy Oaten with 2022 Captain Natalie Loach

Speeches addressed the students’ artistic journey, which has led to this finale. The event has become a celebration of creativity and skills developed by the graduates over their years at the College.

Natalie Loach, 2022 Visual Arts Captain, said in her speech, “I would love to say a massive congratulations to the Visual Arts and Design girls for their outstanding effort this year in the arts. We’ve grown so much together over our schooling journey, especially through these courses. Whether it be spending our Sundays here with an artist-in-residence, last-minute painting sessions in the Year 12 art room, or just hanging out here before classes. I’ve loved every minute with these girls.”

Congratulations to the artists and designers. Your art and design pieces were truly amazing and a testament to your hard work and dedication.
