In their meeting today, the Social Justice Group, a co-curricular group for students in Years 10-12, wrote letters to their Federal Members of Parliament, calling for action on the issue of the offshore processing of asylum seekers.
Nathan Leber spoke to The Social Justice group about the refugee crisis and in particular the mental health impact of resettlement on children.
Uthando Dolls is a co-curricular activity run at the College, in which students create dolls that are sent to Africa. These dolls are used in storytelling and bereavement for children who have lost their parents.
Our Social Justice Group ran a reflection afternoon where two guest speakers, Kathy Fagan and Sister Kaye Bolwell, came to speak to us about the complexity of forced marriage situations both in Australia and globally.
