Vinnies Homelessness Reflection Afternoon

Members of the Vinnies service group attended a reflection afternoon focused on homelessness.

The girls explored many aspects associated with this social issue, from why people become homeless to how we can continue to assist those in need.

We watched an enlightening and educational video, which presented people who had experienced homelessness as they discussed their circumstances and lifestyle.

One of the most influential activities members participated in was writing a diary account of a homeless person. This enabled members to put themselves in the perspective of a homeless person to be able to gain an understanding of the difficulties they face daily. These ranged from the limited access to food, showers, hygiene products and lack of security.

Led impeccably by the Vinnies leaders, the afternoon was a worthwhile experience for everyone.
