Winter Appeal Concludes with Outreach Mass

The College’s annual Winter Appeal concluded today with a beautiful celebration of the Outreach Mass.

Students and staff came together in our Chapel this morning, in the solemnity of ‘The Sacred Heart of Jesus’,  to pray in thanksgiving for all we have been blessed with, and to reach out to those on the fringes of society in a practical way.

Representatives from St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Archbishop’s Shopfront, attended the mass and received our donations of food, toiletries, sleeping bags, scarves and beanies.

The Chapel was a sea of red bags full to the brim with goods so generously donated by our community. Under the very capable coordination of Liz van der Zanden, Service Coordinator and Abby Young, Service Captain, we were able to hand over cash and 200 red bags of much-needed items to the very grateful agencies.

We trust that these donations will go some way to supporting the work of these three agencies who work tirelessly to improve the lives of others.

We are so proud of the work of our Year 12 Ministry Team who have done an amazing job promoting and supporting our Winter Appeal. Thank you, girls, for living our Mercy values.

To our College community, thank you once again for supporting our Winter Appeal.
