Year 6 Camp Adventurers

Year 6 Camp Adventurers

Our Year 6 campers and their teachers set out on an adventure to Kerem Adventure Camp in Bullsbrook this week. With a different model to previous years, the classes were split into two groups to allow the girls to experience the sleepover element of camp, whilst maintaining COVID-19 restrictions. It was wonderful to see all Year 6 students build resilience, make social connections and attempt new physical challenges.

The activities included: archery, orienteering, night walks, spy games, low and high ropes courses and rock climbing. The camaraderie and genuine joy amongst the girls cheering each other on to take on new challenges was very special to witness and the highlight of the camp.

The camp was a valuable learning opportunity outside the classroom and many special memories were made.

Here’s what Lucy and Courtney thought of the camp.

The camp was super fun and probably one of the most fun things I have ever done. The best activity was doing the high ropes. My favourite part was being up high and doing the obstacles in the air and going down on the zipline. My challenge during the camp was sleeping away from home. I was very nervous, but I overcome my fear and stayed the night. I was very proud that I had challenged myself and I will never regret my decision. I loved Kerem Adventure Camp. Thank you to all the teachers and organisers for making camp happen this year! Lucy Cox, 6.10

The camp was REALLY fun! I liked doing the high ropes and rock climbing because I love climbing things (my teacher thinks I’m part monkey!). For me, archery was very challenging. I found it difficult and only hit the target once. But I didn’t give up and I still enjoyed it. The fire pit at night was really cool and I loved the night walk, we were looking for animal footprints and I learned a lot from it. I loved looking at the stars. They looked so different from home. I liked hanging out with my friends and playing games before bed. Overall, I loved camp! Courtney Binns, 6.9
