Mothers’ Retreat: Taking Time Out

As a busy mum, it is not often you make time to stop and do something for yourself.  When the opportunity came knocking last Friday, 70 women from the Santa Maria and Aquinas parent communities said, “Yes, please!”

It was an inspiring day, starting with a beautiful reflection, practicing the pause and centring ourselves to start the day and prepare for the experience.

Three speakers shared their knowledge and experience. Prayer, forgiveness, judgement, compassion and hope can sometimes be heavy content, but Br Robert Stewart had everyone belly laughing with his stories and refreshing outlook.  Love is truly the answer!

  1. Family connectedness
  2. Positivity Bias (focus on gratitude)
  3. Exercise
  4. Self-regulation
  5. Community involvement
